Get ready for a major upgrade at Ohio Stadium! Starting in 2026, the Buckeyes are revamping the north end zone with a brand-new video board, along with several other exciting enhancements. This project, budgeted at $6.5 million, will be completed before the 2026 season begins, transforming the fan experience.
But that's not all! In 2027, the south end zone will undergo a massive makeover, with a state-of-the-art scoreboard, ribbon board replacements, and Pay Forward Society signage. This ambitious project, estimated at $22 million, will be presented to the Board of Trustees for approval at a later date. If approved, it will be ready before the 2027 season, taking the fan experience to the next level.
The north end zone's scoreboard hasn't been updated since 2009, when an LED videoboard was installed. The Buckeyes also expanded the ribbon boards that year, connecting them from end zone to end zone. Meanwhile, the south end zone's main scoreboard received a major upgrade in 2012, featuring a larger display, improved sound systems, and LED ribbon boards.
As part of the Tradition Evolved initiative, Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork hinted at potential future technological advancements in the stadium. He mentioned that they aim to have these installations ready by 2026, with a backup plan to complete them by 2027. This could mean even more exciting upgrades on the horizon!
Stay tuned as Ohio State continues to enhance the fan experience, potentially rivaling the largest main video display in college football, as announced by Illinois in January. The future of Ohio Stadium is looking brighter than ever!
